Great training leads to deeper, more trusting relationships...

Through positive reinforcement (any reward that the animal views as positive), a deeper more meaningful  relationship can develop between a person and an animal.  Care and training provided to any animal through this method can have the most amazing results!

When starting a training program (or even just basic care with an animal), I ask myself several questions that are important. What is the animals’ natural history?  What is his/her individual history?  Is this animal shy, or aggressive?  What motivates this animal (treats, touch, praise)?

What fears does the animal have?  What behaviors does the owner wish to encourage or extinguish?  These questions help me to evaluate the best possible training or care plan based on his/her individual needs and the needs of his owner.

My deep respect for animals has created in me a need to give them the highest level of care possible under ANY circumstances.  This care has included not only the basic care of providing fresh food and water and a clean living space, but stimulation, exercise and keen attention toward them as well.

Exercise is another tool in providing the highest possible care for your animal...

Most animals in the wild get a tremendous amount of exercise, because they need to forage for food and shelter.  Even though humans have domesticated many animals, they still have the need for this exercise.  Many undesirable behaviors can be reduced or eliminated by simply giving them more exercise.  Dogs and horses are two of the animals that I most see who need this.  In caring for them and especially if I’m training them, I use exercise as a powerful tool in shaping their behavior.
